Relay Types

Towing or Caravan Relays can be separated into four main product types according to their function.

Fog Cut-Off Relays

These relays interrupt the power going to the car’s fog lamps and turn the fog lamps off when a caravan or trailer is fitted in order to prevent reflected glare from the fog lamps. A single relay (TEF1) or a double relay (TEF2) is available. A unique feature of the Towing Electrics’ version is a more sophisticated cool running current sensing method. Other devices can generate up to 3 watts of energy which, because they operate continually when in use, can cause severe heat dissipation problems.
